Trustee Biography
First elected as Trustee: 2013
Years served: 12, including as Vice Chair in 2017-2018
Career and Education: For the past 12 years, Trustee Clarke has served as a School Board Trustee for Ward 7, providing a steady and informed voice at the board table. She has chaired several committees, including Student Matters, Policy Review, Audit, and Negotiations, and has represented the division on the provincial Student Health Task Force and the Council of the Public School Boards' Association of Alberta, working alongside trustees from across the province bringing valuable insight and experience. During her tenure, Trustee Clarke has had the honour of opening two new elementary schools within Ward 7, supporting growth and quality education. She is deeply committed to the role of trustee as an active voice for students, families, and community.
Community Involvement: Trustee Clarke is passionate about giving back to her community. She has been involved with the Grovedale Figure Skating Club for 12 years, including five as President. She also volunteers at the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie. Trustee Clarke, along with her family, supports the Sherman Kakwa Trail Society, helping to clear historic trails on horse back. She teaches yoga at Rooted Heart Yoga Studio and Northwestern Polytechnic. As an artist, she was honoured to exhibit her work through the TREX program at the Grande Prairie Art Gallery.

Peace Wapiti Academy Replacement High School - Remain steadfast in advocating for the completion of the replacement high school project, ensuring students have access to safe, modern, and well-equipped learning environments.
Addressing Classroom Complexity - Acknowledge and tackle classroom complexity as a systemic issue, advocating for thoughtful, comprehensive solutions that support teachers and improve learning conditions for all students.
Strong Family and Community Partnerships - Support active collaboration with school councils, parents, and community members, recognizing families as vital partners in student success and the heart of the school system.
Sustainable Funding and Fiscal Responsibility - Advocate at the provincial level for fair and consistently sustainable funding while ensuring taxpayer dollars are managed responsibly, with transparency and accountability.
Equitable, High-Quality Education - Work to provide consistent, high-quality educational opportunities for every student, regardless of location, background, or circumstance.
Student/Staff Health and Wellness - Champion programs and supports that address the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of students, recognizing wellness as a foundation for learning.
