Superintendent of Schools
Bob Stewart

As Chief Executive Officer, the Superintendent is entrusted with full authority for the administrative management of the School Division according to School Board policies, provincial laws, federal laws, federal regulations and Alberta Education.

The Superintendent:

  • Attends all meetings of the Board and exercises, subject to the direction of the Board, general supervision over all schools, teachers, property, students, and community services.
  • Reviews the Accountability Pillar Survey results and develops a Three Year Plan with the goal of overall system improvement.
  • Supervises the Directors of Transportation and Maintenance, who, under his supervision oversee school bus transportation and school facilities.
  • Acts as a liaison with other public and private agencies for the mutual benefit of the system and the community, and for adequate representation of educational concerns to the public.
  • Evaluates Central Office staff.
