PWPSD Wellness Supports
At Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD), every school has access to the Division's Wellness team, which focuses on supporting the positive mental health of students.
Support is provided in tiers, which allows the Wellness team to address varying needs, efficiently allocate resources, provide students with the support they need, make data-driven decisions, and promote wellness for each and every PWPSD student.

Our Community School Liaison Counsellors (CSLC) support wellness for students experiencing relationship challenges and major life events (Tier II), such as divorce or loss of a loved one, through classroom intervention and targeted support. The team seeks to develop children's social and emotional skills to enhancing coping abilities with life's hardships.
Similar to PWPSD's Community School Liaison Counsellors (Tier II), the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) team works closely with the Division to provide quality supports to students. Under the leadership of the County of Grande Prairie, the FCSS team provides services at PWPSD schools within its boundaries.
PWPSD's Mental Health Therapists provide one-on-one school-based mental health support to students managing a mental health diagnosis (Tier III). Students may be referred to the school-based team for mental health support to address a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs. PWPSD's Mental Health Therapists work collaboratively with school mental health teams and inclusive programming to support students, staff, and families.
Peace Collaborative Services (PCS) is a multidisciplinary team of professionals who provide supports such as assessment, consultation, and intervention for students who require specialized services to promote their success (Tier IV).
The PWPSD Outreach team works with schools to identify students who have been struggling with attendance. They connect with families to identify needs/barriers/struggles, and provide access to a wide range of services, community supports, and referrals (Tier IV).
