PWPSD has launched its 7th annual Christmas Card Art Contest. Each year, the school division rotates the contest through grade divisions (Division 1: Grades 1-3; Division 2: Grades 4-6; Division 3: Grades 7-9; and Division 4: Grades 10-12). The 2020 Christmas Card Art Contest will be open to Grades 7-9 students enrolled at PWPSD schools.
This week, schools throughout Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) will learn about the history of moccasins, participate in Métis-focused mental health and cultural awareness sessions, and focus on bullying awareness.
In an interview with 2dayfm GP on November 4, 2020, PWPSD Deputy Superintendent Darren Young discussed the PWPSD Board's current top three 2021-2024 Capital Plan priorities: a new Grades 9-12 high school located east of Grande Prairie, a new K-8 school in the Clairmont area, and a replacement Peace Wapiti Academy located north of Grande Prairie.
The Government of Alberta has updated the list of symptoms for Albertans under 18, and high school students who are over 18 (see pages 1-2). All other Albertans who are 18 and over, including school staff, will continue to use the original Alberta Health daily checklist.
PWPSD schools honoured the 40th anniversary of the Terry Fox Run with virtual fundraising campaigns and school run events this fall, generating $19,559.90 for cancer research. Many thanks to all PWPSD staff, students and community members for contributing to this worthy cause.
