Pembina Pipeline Corporation Invests $120,000 in Grande Prairie Regional Career Collegiate

Pembina QuoteThe Grande Prairie Regional Career Collegiate (GPRCC) is proud to announce a significant investment from Pembina in support of the Tri-Division Collegiate Program. Pembina has committed $40,000 annually over the next three years, for a total contribution of $120,000, helping expand career-connected learning opportunities for
students across the region.

The sponsorship will focus on two key areas that directly enhance student access to hands-on learning and post-secondary experiences:

  • Acquisition and enhancement of collegiate equipment trailers to support mobile, hands-on learning opportunities.
  • Dual Credit tuition support, helping students earn post-secondary credits and industry-recognized training while still enrolled in high school.

In addition to its financial contribution, Pembina has committed to supporting educational experiences through industry engagement opportunities, including guest speakers, facility tours and, where possible, job-site visits. These experiences will help students gain valuable insight into career pathways and workforce opportunities.

“This investment represents the kind of industry partnership that strengthens opportunities for students and helps prepare them for successful futures,” said Roger Lauck, Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools. “By supporting hands-on learning, dual credit programming and meaningful industry connections, Pembina is helping students explore career pathways, develop valuable skills and build confidence as they transition to post-secondary education and the workforce.”

Pembina’s Ryley Hommy, Supervisor, Grande Prairie, added, “We know that when students have the chance to see and experience the real-world applications of their studies, it opens doors for them. By supporting GPRCC, we want to give students the hands-on exposure they need to confidently build their future.”

GPRCC is a collaborative initiative involving Grande Prairie and District Catholic School Division, Grande Prairie Public School Division and Peace Wapiti Public School Division. The Collegiate provides students with opportunities to explore careers, earn dual credits, gain industry certifications and develop skills that align with regional workforce needs.

“This investment will create additional opportunities for students to access hands-on learning experiences and explore careers that align with their interests and goals. We are grateful to Pembina for supporting innovative programming that benefits our students,” said Kimberly Frykas, Grande Prairie Public School Division.

“Career-connected learning helps students see the possibilities available to them beyond high school. Pembina’s support will expand access to valuable learning experiences and strengthen innovative programming that benefits students across our region,” said Penny Rose, Peace Wapiti Public School Division.
