PWPSD announces principals for Helen E. Taylor and Colony schools

Mrs. Cindy Young and Ms. Rebecca Jobson have accepted permanent roles as the principals of Helen E. Taylor School and the Hutterite colony schools respectively.

Mrs. Young began her teaching career with Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) in 2006 and has since received her Master of Education in Multidisciplinary Leadership. In 2018, she took on the role of assistant principal at Helen E. Taylor School, where she has been acting principal for the past year. She is excited to continue her career with Helen E. Taylor School and says she is most looking forward to more opportunities to connect with students and families, and supporting staff as they grow their learning community.

Ms. Jobson, who has also been with PWPSD her entire career, worked as a teacher at Shady Lane Colony School for 15 years before spending the last year as the Division’s Colony Principal. She enjoys learning and expanding on her knowledge as an educator, and for the last three years has been studying psychology through Athabasca University. Ms. Jobson says she is excited to continue to serve and support the students and staff at the colony schools.
