COVID-19 cases confirmed at two PWPSD schools

Grande Prairie, AB – Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) is providing the following daily summary report of COVID-19 cases in schools for Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

Out of respect for the individuals who tested positive for COVID-19, and in accordance with AHS guidelines, no further information will be shared about the cases. PWPSD and the affected schools wish the individuals a safe and speedy recovery, and will continue to work closely with AHS to ensure necessary measures are in place to protect all students and staff. Remote learning opportunities will be provided to any students isolating beyond Easter break. The affected schools have been disinfected. AHS is expected to provide all close contacts with further direction on testing and isolation instructions.

 

Case report for Wednesday, April 7, 2021:

  • A case at Harry Balfour School. The case was last in school on Thursday, April 1. Close contacts will isolate until Friday, April 16. The school has sent letters to their families.

  • A case at Clairmont Community School. The case was last in school on Tuesday, March 30. All close contacts are already isolating until Wednesday, April 14 due to a previous case. Since there are no additional close contacts stemming from this case, and the end of isolation remains unchanged, letters to families were not required.
