PWPSD Teacher Bursary Program

Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) has created a bursary program to assist individuals living within the PWPSD boundaries to attain their Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree. This bursary program is open annually from December 1 to February 15, with the application deadline being February 15 of each year.

This program is open to individuals entering a four-year BEd program, or a two-year After-Degree BEd program at an accredited Alberta university.

  • PWPSD may provide $3,000 per year to cover the costs directly associated with the program for which the student has been accepted.

      • BEd program - completed as a full-time student over four years
      • After-Degree BEd program - completed as a full-time student over two years

  • Successful applicants must sign a two-year Return of Service Agreement with PWPSD.

PWPSD will award up to five bursaries each year. Preference will be given to applicants from rural locations, however all applications will be carefully reviewed for consideration.
