Grande Prairie, AB – Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) has prepared a summary report of COVID-19 cases reported in schools over the Easter long weekend, Friday, April 2 - Monday, April 5, 2021. The affected schools sent letters to their families immediately following notification of each positive case.
Out of respect for the individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19, and in accordance with AHS guidelines, no further information will be shared about the cases. PWPSD and the affected schools wish the individuals a safe and speedy recovery, and will continue to work closely with AHS to ensure necessary measures are in place to protect all students and staff. Remote learning opportunities will be provided to any students who will need to isolate beyond Easter break. The affected schools have been disinfected. AHS is expected to provide all close contacts with further direction on testing and isolation instructions.
Case report for Friday, April 2, 2021:
- One case at Clairmont Community School. The case was last in school on Tuesday, March 30. Close contacts are already isolating due to previous contact with another case, and will now isolate until Wednesday, April 14.
- One case at Peace Wapiti Academy. The case was last in school on Tuesday, March 30. Close contacts will isolate until Tuesday, April 13 (close contact on March 29) or Wednesday, April 14 (close contact on March 30).
